BHTA members now enjoy access to new Track My Carbon tool for less with special member rate

The British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) has confirmed a new partnership with Track My Carbon – the newly-released online tool designed to enable companies to set out, record, maintain and evidence their commitment to carbon reduction to public sector clients.

The simple and easy-to-complete software has been created by experts in the field of procurement and tendering to allow companies to remain compliant with the requirements of Procurement Policy Note (PPN) 06/21.

The notice, which came into force on 30 September 2021, requires all public bodies to take account of suppliers’ carbon reduction plans in the procurement of any government contracts with a value of over £5 million per year.

It follows the setting of UK net-zero target to 2050 by the Government, and the NHS’s target of 2045.

To ensure BHTA members are best placed to begin setting out and implementing their carbon reduction plans quickly, effectively and compliantly, the association has established a partnership with Track My Carbon which will see members benefit from preferential rates for the carbon management solution.

Calvin Barnett, Head of Marketing and Communications for the British Healthcare Trades Association, commented:

“We are delighted to announce that our members will now be able to enjoy privileged access to Track My Carbon during this important time in public sector procurement.

“With many companies still at the start of their journey on the road to net zero, we recognise the need to support our members during this process. This partnership will help ensure our members have the opportunity to use the right tools needed get ahead in the race to net zero, and at the best rates.”

James Thirkill, Chief Revenue Officer of Track My Carbon, commented:

“We are thrilled to be working in partnership with the British Healthcare Trade Association to offer Track My Carbon to their members. Track My Carbon is a simple to use, cost-effective solution that not only allows organisations to comply with public sector procurement regulations but also helps suppliers clearly define and manage their roadmap to Net Zero, thus playing their part in the fight against climate change.”
