Rob Higgie is delighted to be able to offer his services as a director of the BHTA with specialist knowledge of the First Aid and Medical Equipment section. Rob has 25 years management experience in the First Aid sector and the last four years specifically in the defibrillator industry. Prior to this, Rob was in textiles and briefly professional accountancy VAT services. In his forties he studied at the Open University gaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business studies.
Outside work, Rob has volunteered for 12 years as a Community First Responder for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service attending immediate life threatening 999 calls in his neighbourhood. In addition, he also is a member of Yorkshire Lowland Rescue, whom are tasked the Police service to search for vulnerable people and Fire Service for flood rescue. Rob has two grown up children as well as two labradors
Rob helped instigate the BHTA scrap the restart a heart tax campaign to remove VAT for the sale of defibrillators.
