With 2 fantastic courses and something to challenge golfers of all abilities, Forest of Arden offers premier level golf in the heart of the Midlands.
Top 100 Golf calls the course an absolute treat: “The back nine is the most memorable, not only for the ancient oak trees, but also for the closing two holes, which are technically excellent and very exciting.”
BHTA will have exclusive use of the onsite Marquee, starting with arrival coffee & Bacon Rolls at 8:00am. Everyone will receive a Golf Essentials Pack (including a sleeve of golf balls, poker chip ball marker, driving range token and more).
Teams will then move to the championship Arden course, a regular venue for the European Tour, British Masters, and English Open for 18 holes. Don’t forget that we’ll be tracking for Nearest the Pin and Longest Drive. The course will use Golf Genius Live Scoring to allow you to focus on your game.
For those feeling peckish on the course, Forest of Arden offers both a halfway house and a roving buggy from which you can purchase snacks.
Players will return to the Marquee at 3pm for a 2 course buffet and awards.

Rebecca Houlden
Assessment Manager, Driving Mobility
Rebecca Houlden is a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT), who has worked for Driving Mobility accredited centres since 2017. Her involvement with RDAC began in 2016 where she attended a 12-week clinical placement and following this she was fortunate to be offered a specialist OT role. Over the years Rebecca has conducted adult and paediatric assessments, supported and coached new staff and students, and presented to professionals, universities and large exhibitions. In 2023 she was promoted to Assessment Manager and as part of her role is responsible for the development of the powered wheelchair and mobility scooter (PWMS) service within RDAC.
Janet Seward
Partnerships Manager, TACT
Janet Seward is Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing with a long career that began in brand marketing to consumers. She has worked in senior commercial roles in the independent living sector since 2001 including in a number of manufacturing, retailing and third sector organisations. She was head of DLF for several years during which time she led a transformation of its information, advice and training programmes for older and disabled people.
Clare Barber
Founder, TACT
Clare has been working in the health and social care sector for over 22 years having specialised for several years in accessible home environments. She is acknowledged as a leader in the development of the Trusted Assessor concept running accredited training programmes UK-wide. Clare devised the two national qualifications for Trusted Assessors at Level Three and Level Four.

Her team’s work benefits from the strong industry connections gained from our wider work and this current practice informs the team about the evolving needs of assessors and practitioners which in turn informs the development of future resources and training programmes offered UK-wide.
Dr Rachel Russell

Dr Rachel Russell is an occupational therapist with over two decades of experience in health and social care. She now works for Foundations, the government’s national advisory body for the Disabled Facilities Grants and Home Improvement Agencies. In her role, Rachel leads a team of regional advisors who are dedicated to inspiring positive change in the delivery of home adaptations and improvements.

The day will begin with breakfast and golfer registration from 8am, followed by a short golfer briefing at 8.50am. Golfers are also welcome to take to the free practice range to warm up from 8am to 9.15am.
Teams will move to tees from 9.10am, with the shotgun start at 9.30am – the play will be in four-ball and will follow Stableford rules.

This years Golf Day will be hosted on Tuesday 8th September 2020 at the Mere Golf Course and Spa Resort in Cheshire, with an option for members to enjoy a Spa Treatment if not golfing.

The 18 hole, 6,882 -yard, par-71 course at The Mere was designed by James Braid, and created out of 150 acres of Cheshire parkland in 1934. Today, the Championship course holds the reputation as one of the best maintained and highest quality golf courses in the North of England.
Surrounded by mature trees, flowering banks and with stunning views over the Mere Lake, the course offers the charm of the Cheshire countryside, coupled with a range of challenging features to test your precision and driving skills! Water, ravines and thick vegetation have been incorporated into the landscape, demanding care and accuracy whilst navigating the course.
