Are you the next Sean Rose?
We’re thrilled to be working with sportsman and adventurer, Sean Rose, to help more disabled people view themselves by their ability, rather than their disability.
Former Airman, Sean Rose broke his back in a skiing accident in 2000 whilst serving in the RAF. Relentless, in all ways, Sean has since represented ParalympicsGB at two Winter Paralympic Games, and 7 years on the Skiing World cup circuit. The downhill ski racer has also become a water-ski world champion, motorbiker and pilot, among other awe inspiring projects and achievements. He is currently undertaking driver training with the Team BRIT motor racing team.
Sean Rose is an ambassador for Cyclone Mobility. His motto: “If your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough” perfectly matches the type of people that our life-changing products are designed for.
We’ve teamed up with Team BRIT, Aerobility and Access Adventures to find the next Sean Rose. Using two incredible simulators at the forthcoming Naidex exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham, visitors to our stand will be able to enjoy the thrills and spills of motor racing, flying an aeroplane and talk first-hand about downhill skiing. What’s more the participant that impresses the judges most will win a XLR-8 wheelchair and a Cyclone Batec – enabling them to have their own incredible adventures.
About the Batec and XLR-8
With a top speed of 30km/h the Batec Rapid is fast, fun and stands out from the crowd – much like Sean!
The Batec Rapid is designed for people who love speed and demand the maximum performance from their Batec – and that’s exactly why Sean selected this particular model. The incredible Batec Rapid is the fastest Batec around featuring exclusive components such as double hydraulic disc brakes and carbon-fibre handlebars.
The Batec Rapid is designed to open up new places for wheelchair users. Forest trails, the National Cycle Network, seaside promenades, countryside walking trails, etc are no longer beyond your reach.
The Cyclone XLR-8 takes mobility design to another level. The uniquely styled Cyclone XLR-8 is the most rugged, compact and high performance chair on the market.
Manufactured from aerospace grade oval tube aluminium alloy, the XLR-8 combines a rugged, handbuilt frame and styling without adding weight. The chair was among the lightest on the market.
Cyclone applied cutting edge design techniques to the challenge of applying oval tubing to a wheelchair frame design in the early 2000’s. Mountain bike manufacturer, Kona had previously succeeded in producing bicycle frames – but the curves required for a cantilever wheelchair frame were a different proposition altogether. The result was a high performance wheelchair – backed with a lifetime warranty.
Cyclone are currently working with a new prototype with partners OffCarr, ready for relaunch at Naidex 2019 – where you could win one!
The competition is open to any wheelchair user who attends Naidex and participates in the two simulator tasks. The winner will be chosen by independent judges and will be announced at the end of the second day of the Naidex event.
