About the speaker

Glynn is the Bank’s Deputy Agent for the West Midlands & Oxfordshire. The role of the Bank’s regional Agencies is to act as information gatherers for the Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) and Financial Policy Committee (FPC). To this end, the Agents speak regularly with contacts from across the business community to assess the current state of the economic environment. This information plays an important role in the policy decisions of the MPC and FPC. Glynn joined the Bank as Deputy Agent for the West Midlands and Oxfordshire in March 2011 during which time he has also worked in Threadneedle Street. Prior to joining the Bank, Glynn was the lead economist at the RDA, having spent much of his career in consultancy advising on a range of economics, planning and regeneration issues.
