BHTA members involved in home adaptations and accessibility solutions are encouraged to review this tender opportunity from Islington Council for specialist adaptations, installations, and repair works for residents with vulnerabilities and disabilities.
The council manages around 35,000 tenanted homes across the borough and is seeking to appoint two contractors to help deliver adaptations that support independent living and enable carers to provide support safely in the home.
Islington Council is procuring a contract for specialist adaptations, including installations and repairs, following assessments by its Occupational Therapy Team and surveys carried out by its Adaptations Team. Works will then be allocated to the appointed contractors for delivery.
The contract covers homes across Islington in London.
This is an open procedure under the Procurement Act 2023. The contract is not divided into lots; instead, two contractors will be appointed and work is expected to be issued evenly on an alternating basis between them.
The procurement documents state that works will be instructed following occupational therapy referrals and surveys by the council’s Adaptations Team, with scale drawings provided where required.
Evaluation weighting: Quality 60 percent; cost 40 percent.
