BHTA members involved in community equipment services, minor adaptations, installation, maintenance, and associated support services are encouraged to review this new tender opportunity from Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council, Rochdale Borough Council, Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, and Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council.
The four councils are seeking providers to support adults and children across the boroughs and authorised adjacent areas. The contract is intended to support a full service model that covers community equipment provision alongside minor adaptations works in people’s homes.
This tender covers integrated community equipment services and minor adaptations services across Greater Manchester, split into two lots for the full community equipment service lifecycle and a separate minor adaptations service. This tender is particularly suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), alongside other providers able to deliver community equipment services, minor adaptations works, or both.
Lot 1 covers an integrated community equipment service. This includes procurement of stock and special equipment, storage, distribution, delivery, installation, fitting, adjustment, collection, cleaning, decontamination, refurbishment, recycling, repairs, servicing, preventative maintenance, technical assessments, joint visits, specialist engineering, and support for discharge, reablement, prevention, urgent community response, and palliative care. The estimated value of lot 1 is £27,678,898.50, excluding VAT.
Lot 2 covers minor adaptations. The provider will be required to accept electronic referrals, liaise with prescribers, clients, and representatives, arrange works, ensure permissions are in place where needed, prepare construction phase plans and property-specific risk assessments and method statements, and report on completed works or delays. The estimated value of lot 2 is £2,598,932.05, excluding VAT.
