BHTA members involved in home adaptations and accessibility solutions are encouraged to review a new tender opportunity from Barnet Homes for the delivery of its Aids and Adaptations Works Contract.
Barnet Homes is seeking a contractor to design, supply, and install a range of adaptations to support residents’ independence and safety at home. The estimated annual contract value is approximately £800,000, with a total estimated value of £4 million (excluding VAT) over the maximum five-year term. The contract will initially run for three years, with an option to extend for a further two years, subject to performance and agreement.

The contract will commence on 1 August 2026, with an estimated completion date of 30 July 2029, and a possible extension to 30 July 2031.

Cardiff Council has announced a new tender opportunity for a JES decontamination service, inviting bids from qualified organisations to collect, decontaminate, and return adaptation equipment for reuse across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

The framework seeks a single contractor to manage the complete process, ensuring items are safely cleaned, maintained, and reissued to support sustainable reuse within community care. The total estimated value of the framework is £480,000 (excluding VAT), with the contract running from 1 April 2026 to 13 April 2027, and the option to extend for up to four years (12+12+12 months) until 15 April 2030.
The successful contractor will be responsible for collecting a variety of adaptation equipment, delivering a thorough decontamination service, and returning the items for reuse. This work supports the council’s commitment to circular economy principles and efficient use of healthcare resources.
Tenders will be evaluated primarily on price (90 percent), with community wellbeing benefits accounting for the remaining 10 percent of the available weighting. Bidders are required to submit a detailed Community Wellbeing Benefits Plan, outlining measurable commitments to local impact and wellbeing initiatives.

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership – Procurement Services (hosted by Velindre University NHS Trust) has announced a new opportunity for the supply of wheelchairs, associated parts, and accessories to support the All-Wales Posture and Mobility Services across Cardiff and Wrexham.
This tender represents a significant opportunity for BHTA member companies operating in the mobility and wheelchair sectors to provide high-quality products and support to NHS Wales. Members with experience in manufacturing, distributing, or servicing wheelchairs are encouraged to review the full details and consider submitting a bid.
The framework covers the supply of manual and powered wheelchairs, including adult and paediatric models, as well as related parts, accessories, and mobility bases. Products supplied under this agreement will support patients through the All-Wales Posture and Mobility Centres in Cardiff and Wrexham.
The tender is divided into 25 lots, covering a full range of wheelchairs and associated equipment. The estimated total value of the framework is £18,609,543 (excluding VAT), with individual lot values ranging from approximately £25,000 to £50,000.
The framework agreement will begin on 1 January 2027 and run until 31 December 2030, with an option to extend for an additional 24 months.
