The wider framework covers a broad range of minor works across 14 lots. For BHTA members, the relevant lots cover DFG-funded residential extensions and architectural services for adaptations.

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is establishing an open, multi-supplier minor works framework. The council states that the framework will be used in the first instance for appointing suppliers under the selected lots, with engagement outside the framework only considered in exceptional circumstances.

Relevant lots

Lot 10, Residential Extensions, covers the provision of disabled adaptations to qualifying residents’ homes through funded DFGs. The estimated value of this lot is £1,600,000 excluding VAT.

Lot 11, Architects for DFG projects, covers the production of architectural plans for disabled adaptations and extensions to residential properties. This lot may be relevant to organisations working with adaptation projects that include design, planning, or specialist residential access requirements. The estimated value of this lot is £200,000 excluding VAT.

Call-offs under the framework may be awarded either directly to the highest-ranked contractor that can meet the council’s requirements or through a mini competition involving all contractors appointed to the relevant framework lot.

Eligibility and evaluation

This tender is suitable for SMEs and VCSEs, as well as larger suppliers, able to deliver DFG-related adaptation works, residential extensions, or architectural services for disabled adaptations.

The award criteria are Quality 80 percent and Price 20 percent. For mini competitions under the framework, the council may set quality and price weightings between 0 percent and 100 percent, depending on the requirements of the further competition.

Tender opportunity: Community Housing seeks home adaptation suppliers

BHTA members involved in home adaptations, accessibility products, and related installation services are encouraged to review this new tender opportunity from Community Housing for equipment and adaptations works delivered through Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) and other assessed needs.

Community Housing is establishing a multi-supplier planned works framework that can also be accessed by other authorised users, including social housing providers, NHS bodies, educational establishments, and other contracting authorities across the UK.

For BHTA members, the most relevant opportunity is Lot 16, covering aids, adaptations, and associated housing works designed to improve accessibility, safety, and independence at home.

Tender opportunity: North Tyneside council seeks level access shower contractors

BHTA members involved in home adaptations, accessible bathrooms, and disability-related housing works may wish to review this tender opportunity from North Tyneside Borough Council.

The council is seeking to establish a framework agreement to support residents whose needs have been assessed by an occupational therapist. The contract covers Disabled Facilities Grant funded projects, as well as works in the council’s own housing stock.
