BHTA members involved in community equipment services are encouraged to review a tender from West Northamptonshire Council for its Integrated Community Equipment Loan Service (ICELS).
The service will help people remain independent and safe in their own homes, supporting hospital avoidance and discharge, recovery, and rehabilitation.
The council intends to award one contract for timely access to equipment supporting prevention, intermediate care, reablement, palliative and end-of-life care, continuing healthcare, and long-term community support.
Self-funding people must be able to purchase equipment at the contract rates. The provider will liaise directly with them on assessment, supply, installation, and aftercare.
The provider must also work with commissioners to develop and maintain a self-assessment model, including an accessible online assessment tool. This will enable people and carers to assess their needs, receive information, and identify suitable equipment options.
This tender is suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises that meet the legal, financial, and technical requirements set out in the procurement documents.
Tenders will be evaluated on quality (60 percent) and price (40 percent).
Access the tender documents and submit electronically through In-tend by 12pm on 20 October 2026.
The deadline for enquiries is 5pm on 6 October 2026. For enquiries, contact procurement@westnorthants.gov.uk.
