Southend-on-Sea City Council is seeking a single supplier to provide inspection, maintenance, and repair services for lifting equipment. The notice states that the equipment covered includes slings, chair lifts, bath lifts, and hoists, including mobile and ceiling track hoists.
The contract is intended to support the safe and compliant operation of equipment used by Southend-on-Sea residents and carers. Most equipment is located in private dwellings, although some may also be held in the community equipment service warehouse.
The appointed supplier must be suitably qualified to deliver services in line with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including LOLER, PUWER, safeguarding, and infection control expectations.
The notice states that the opportunity is suitable for SMEs, provided suppliers can demonstrate the required technical capability, qualifications, and insurance cover.
Evaluation weighting: Price 70 percent | Quality 30 percent
The price score is split across annual service and inspection, six-monthly LOLER inspection, standard repair, and emergency repair. The quality score covers safety during home visits, support for vulnerable customers, and complaints management and timeliness.
