BHTA members involved in home adaptations, accessibility products, and related installation services are encouraged to review this new tender opportunity from Community Housing for equipment and adaptations works delivered through Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) and other assessed needs.
Community Housing is establishing a multi-supplier planned works framework that can also be accessed by other authorised users, including social housing providers, NHS bodies, educational establishments, and other contracting authorities across the UK.
For BHTA members, the most relevant opportunity is Lot 16, covering aids, adaptations, and associated housing works designed to improve accessibility, safety, and independence at home.
This is an open procedure tender published under the Procurement Act 2023, and Community Housing expects to award the framework on 31 July 2026. Call-off contracts under the framework may be awarded either with or without further competition, depending on the nature, value, and complexity of the requirement.
Lot 16 covers aids, adaptations, and associated works in residential properties, including projects delivered through DFG and other assessed needs. This includes the installation of equipment, joinery and carpentry works, ironmongery, and related property adaptations in residential settings.
Community Housing states that the works are intended to improve accessibility, safety, and independence for residents with additional needs, while supporting timely delivery and minimising disruption to occupants.
This tender is suitable for SMEs, as well as other qualified suppliers able to deliver home adaptation works, equipment installation, and associated accessibility-related services in residential properties. Legal, financial, and technical conditions of participation are outlined in the procurement documents.
The evaluation weighting is 60 percent for quality and 40 percent for price.
