BHTA members involved in stairlifts, lifting equipment, and home adaptations are encouraged to review a new North Yorkshire Council tender for the supply, installation, servicing, and maintenance of stairlifts and through floor lifts under its Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) scheme.
The tender is suitable for SMEs able to provide the relevant services in accordance with the council’s specification.
The contract is divided into two lots covering stairlifts and through floor lifts.
Lot 1 – Stairlifts has an estimated value of £3.5 million excluding VAT. It covers straight and curved stairlifts, including surveys, installation, servicing, maintenance, repairs, associated electrical works, recycling, refurbishment, storage, and reinstallation.
Lot 2 – Through floor lifts has an estimated value of £1.5 million excluding VAT. It covers surveys, supply, installation, servicing, maintenance, and repairs in domestic properties, alongside associated building and electrical works, testing, commissioning, and user training.
Both lots require a minimum five-year warranty, emergency repairs, and customer support.
Suppliers may bid for and be awarded a maximum of one lot. The lot values are indicative, and expenditure may vary according to actual service demand.
Tenders will be evaluated on price at 60 percent and quality at 40 percent.
Quality comprises resources at 6 percent, contract management at 6 percent, emergency response and warranty at 10 percent, method statement at 10 percent, and social value and environmental sustainability at 8 percent.
Submit tenders through YORtender by 12pm on 15 September 2026. Clarification questions must be submitted through the portal by 12pm on 8 September 2026.
