Tender opportunity: Cardiff Community Housing Association seeks contractor to maintain lifts and hoists

BHTA members involved in stairlifts, domestic lifts, hoists, and associated servicing are encouraged to review a new tender opportunity from Cardiff Community Housing Association (CCHA).

Tender overview

CCHA is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to provide planned preventative maintenance, responsive repairs, and emergency breakdown attendance for specialist lifting and mobility equipment installed within tenants’ homes and communal areas.

• Contract value: £50,000 excluding VAT
• Contract dates: 1 December 2026 to 1 December 2028, with two optional one-year extensions to 1 December 2030

Scope

Equipment covered by the contract includes straight and curved stairlifts, through-floor platform lifts, ceiling track hoists, and associated lifting equipment and accessories.

The number and type of assets may change as equipment is installed, replaced, adapted, or removed. The successful contractor will need to manage this changing asset base while ensuring equipment remains safe, compliant, and operational, and provide a customer-focused service when working in occupied homes.

Eligibility

This tender is suitable for SMEs and VCSEs able to provide servicing, maintenance, repairs, and emergency breakdown support for specialist lifting and mobility equipment.

Evaluation

Tender submissions will be evaluated on technical/quality at 70 percent and commercial at 30 percent.

Questions must be submitted by 12am on 19 August 2026, and completed tenders must be submitted by 12am on 2 September 2026.
