BHTA members involved in stairlifts, lifting equipment, and home adaptations are encouraged to review a new North Yorkshire Council tender for the supply, installation, servicing, and maintenance of stairlifts and through floor lifts under its Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) scheme.
The tender is suitable for SMEs able to provide the relevant services in accordance with the council’s specification.
The contract is divided into two lots covering stairlifts and through floor lifts.
Lot 1 – Stairlifts has an estimated value of £3.5 million excluding VAT. It covers straight and curved stairlifts, including surveys, installation, servicing, maintenance, repairs, associated electrical works, recycling, refurbishment, storage, and reinstallation.
Lot 2 – Through floor lifts has an estimated value of £1.5 million excluding VAT. It covers surveys, supply, installation, servicing, maintenance, and repairs in domestic properties, alongside associated building and electrical works, testing, commissioning, and user training.
Both lots require a minimum five-year warranty, emergency repairs, and customer support.
Suppliers may bid for and be awarded a maximum of one lot. The lot values are indicative, and expenditure may vary according to actual service demand.
Tenders will be evaluated on price at 60 percent and quality at 40 percent.
Quality comprises resources at 6 percent, contract management at 6 percent, emergency response and warranty at 10 percent, method statement at 10 percent, and social value and environmental sustainability at 8 percent.
Submit tenders through YORtender by 12pm on 15 September 2026. Clarification questions must be submitted through the portal by 12pm on 8 September 2026.

BHTA members involved in stairlifts, platform lifts, through-floor lifts, ceiling track hoists, and related installation and maintenance services are encouraged to review this new framework opportunity from Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation (YPO).
YPO intends to appoint suppliers to a framework agreement for public sector customers, where end customers will place orders directly with suppliers, who will deliver and provide services direct to the end customer.
YPO is establishing a national framework for the supply, installation, and ongoing support of stairlifts and other lifting equipment, alongside associated servicing, maintenance, and refurbishment activity across the UK. The framework is designed for use by YPO and other contracting authorities.
This is an open procedure to establish a framework agreement.
The framework covers the supply and installation of new equipment, as well as supporting services including servicing, maintenance, removal, storage, refurbishment, and re-siting of equipment (including arrangements under the original manufacturer’s warranty, where applicable). It also includes service and maintenance for equipment that is no longer under the manufacturer’s warranty.
The framework is structured across supply and installation lots, plus service and maintenance sub-lots, and a multi-lot call-off option for customers with more than one requirement.
The notice indicates that suppliers may only apply for sub-lots 7.1 to 7.6 if they have applied for (and are successful on) lots 1 to 6. Suppliers awarded all lots and sub-lots may be automatically added to the multi-lot (lot 8), unless they opt out.
This tender is suitable for SMEs and voluntary, community, and social enterprises, as well as larger providers, that can supply and install the relevant equipment and deliver associated service and maintenance requirements.
Evaluation weighting (framework establishment, lots 1 to 6): quality (including delivery and customer service) 50 percent, cost 30 percent, and social value and sustainability 20 percent.
For service and maintenance sub-lots (7.1 to 7.6) and the multi-lot call-off (lot 8), the notice lists cost, quality, and social value, and sustainability as the criteria, but does not specify weightings.
