Tender opportunity: HSCNI seeks suppliers for mobility and daily living equipment

BHTA members supplying mobility and daily living equipment are encouraged to review a new framework opportunity for the supply and delivery of sensory equipment to Health and Social Care Northern Ireland (HSCNI).

The Regional Business Services Organisation’s Procurement and Logistics Service (BSO PaLS) is conducting the procurement on behalf of the Belfast, Northern, South Eastern, Southern, and Western Health and Social Care Trusts.

Relevant lots

The framework is divided into 13 lots covering a wider range of sensory equipment, including alerting devices, assistive listening devices, lighting, low vision products, and tinnitus equipment. The two lots of particular relevance to BHTA members are:

Lot 10: Mobility covers mobility items and has an estimated value of £200,879.53 excluding VAT.

Lot 12: Daily living equipment covers daily living equipment and also has an estimated value of £200,879.53 excluding VAT.

Lot values may be shared between lots, and the buyer may expand the product range in response to service user requirements. There is no limit on supplier numbers and no supplier fee; contracts may be awarded with or without further competition.

Evaluation

Bids must pass a mandatory quality assessment against the specification and a pass-or-fail product assessment based on submitted datasheets. Bids that meet these requirements will be evaluated on:

• Price: 90 percent
• Desirable sustainability criteria: 10 percent
