Tender opportunity: Council seeks provider for community equipment maintenance and repair service

BHTA members working within the community equipment and assistive technology sectors may be interested in a new tender opportunity from Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council for the provision of a Community Equipment Maintenance and Repair Service.

The service, commissioned by the Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board (ICB), supports residents across Solihull by ensuring that essential community health and social care equipment remains safe, reliable, and fit for purpose. This includes planned maintenance, statutory inspections, reactive repairs, and associated technical support for a wide range of equipment such as hoists, slings, mobility aids, and movement devices.

The contract aims to help individuals maintain independence, reduce risk, and enable timely hospital discharge by keeping equipment in optimal condition. The successful provider will contribute to improving wellbeing and supporting people to live safely at home for as long as possible.
