The Vita Group takes Action to Remain Open and Protect Employees

Last Updated on 25/08/2020 by Millie York

The Vita Group took swift action early in the crisis to remain open and protect our employees. Vita implemented social distancing & hygiene measures at all sites (26 March 2020: www.thevitagroup.com/our-priority-is-the-health-and-safety-of-our-people/). We provided additional rest room and toilets for drivers delivering to our sites; these were very welcome since many companies were not allowing drivers to use facilities. Vita was proud to remain open throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and was able to manufacture critical supplies of foam for healthcare customers and support the NHS Nightingale projects (details of the work by Vita Middleton, Dukinfield, Bedford and Stakehill on 6 April: www.thevitagroup.com/the-vita-group-supports-effort-for-25000-mattresses-needed-by-nhs/).

Collaboration across Vita supplied valuable components for medical and hygiene products including foam mattresses, filters and re-breathe bags for ventilators and foam to improve the comfort of visors. Many of these products required novel innovations to meet rapidly changing requirements and specifications. Our understanding of polymers and material science, along with our high standards of product suitability, quality and safety, has delivered rapid solutions such as face visor comfort seals (10 April: www.thevitagroup.com/thank-to-vita-dukinfield-colleagues/). Our teams have worked tirelessly throughout the UK lockdown to supply our healthcare customers with urgent deliveries and satisfy critical lead-times.

Our latest development the “Vita Shield” face covering was designed and developed primarily for Vita employees (19 June: www.thevitagroup.com/reusable-face-coverings-that-offer-comfort-reliability-safety-and-peace-of-mind/). It has proved successful with our teams and is now offered for sale outside of The Vita Group. I have attached a brochure for your convenience along with some production images.
