I have been fortunate enough to work in the medical device industry for over 25 years. During this time, I have enjoyed senior commercial, financial and operational positions, culminating with my current role as Managing Director of Care & Independence Ltd.
I have extensive experience with both SMEs and major divisions of global corporates, with particular expertise in financial and operational management and process improvement. My training and subsequent qualification as a Chartered Accountant gave me many of the skills, disciplines and core values I still uphold today.
Furthermore, the knowledge and exposure gained over the last 25 years gives me a wide-ranging understanding of many areas of the healthcare sector; experiencing first-hand the day-to-day challenges we face as members but also seeing with my own eyes the benefits that a world-class healthcare system can deliver.
As an industry we must strive to remain innovative, ensuring the huge investments made in R+D realise benefits for both company and user. Without innovation we are accepting that we cannot further improve the lives of those that need our equipment, our services and our help.
I am particularly looking forward to contributing towards the process of improving the BHTA member experience. The established skillset I bring to the Board will help enable the BHTA – through a diverse mix of experience – to continue to deliver on its promises to both its members and the healthcare industry.
