Tender opportunity: Bury Council seeks contractors for aids and adaptations works

BHTA members involved in aids, adaptations, and accessible housing works are encouraged to review a new tender opportunity from Bury Council for its Housing Repairs and Maintenance Framework.

Bury Council is seeking to establish a framework to support the management and upkeep of approximately 8,500 residential properties. The framework is designed to provide responsive, planned, cyclical, and capital works that help keep council housing safe, compliant, and maintained to a high standard for tenants.

Tender overview

The framework is structured into Lot 1, covering general building works, and Lot 2, which is divided into specialist service sub-lots. Lot 2a covers aids and adaptations, with Bury Council intending to appoint two contractors per specialist sub-lot.

The contract will be delivered in the Metropolitan Borough of Bury, in Greater Manchester.

Scope

The relevant scope for BHTA members is Lot 2a, which covers aids and adaptations as part of the council’s specialist services contractor provision.

Appointed suppliers will be eligible to receive call-off and/or direct award opportunities during the framework term, with full allocation mechanisms to be set out in the tender documentation.

Eligibility

This tender is suitable for SMEs, as well as larger providers, able to deliver aids and adaptations works within a public sector housing repairs and maintenance environment.

Evaluation

The procurement is being run through a competitive flexible procedure. Suppliers will first complete the Conditions of Participation stage, including a Procurement Specific Questionnaire. Successful suppliers will then be invited to the Invitation to Tender stage, with contract award based on the award criteria set out in the procurement documents.
