New tender: Barnet Homes seeks suppliers for aids and adaptations works contract

BHTA members involved in home adaptations and accessibility solutions are encouraged to review a new tender opportunity from Barnet Homes for the delivery of its Aids and Adaptations Works Contract.

Barnet Homes is seeking a contractor to design, supply, and install a range of adaptations to support residents’ independence and safety at home. The estimated annual contract value is approximately £800,000, with a total estimated value of £4 million (excluding VAT) over the maximum five-year term. The contract will initially run for three years, with an option to extend for a further two years, subject to performance and agreement.

Tender overview

The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Kitchen adaptations
  • Wet floor showers and overbath showers
  • Ramps and hardstandings
  • Internal and external doors
  • Stairlifts, through-floor lifts, and step lifts
  • Ceiling track hoists
  • Clos-o-mat and Bio-bidet toilets
  • Scooter stores and automatic door or window openers
  • Minor works and callouts

The contract will commence on 1 August 2026, with an estimated completion date of 30 July 2029, and a possible extension to 30 July 2031.

Procurement details

This opportunity is being procured under the Procurement Act 2023 via an open competition. The opportunity is open to SMEs and qualified installation contractors.
