BHTA members involved in stairlifts, domestic lifts, hoists, and associated servicing are encouraged to review a new tender opportunity from Cardiff Community Housing Association (CCHA).
CCHA is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to provide planned preventative maintenance, responsive repairs, and emergency breakdown attendance for specialist lifting and mobility equipment installed within tenants’ homes and communal areas.
Equipment covered by the contract includes straight and curved stairlifts, through-floor platform lifts, ceiling track hoists, and associated lifting equipment and accessories.
The number and type of assets may change as equipment is installed, replaced, adapted, or removed. The successful contractor will need to manage this changing asset base while ensuring equipment remains safe, compliant, and operational, and provide a customer-focused service when working in occupied homes.
This tender is suitable for SMEs and VCSEs able to provide servicing, maintenance, repairs, and emergency breakdown support for specialist lifting and mobility equipment.
Tender submissions will be evaluated on technical/quality at 70 percent and commercial at 30 percent.
Tenders must be submitted electronically through the Sell2Wales portal. CCHA will not accept submissions by email or post.
Questions must be submitted by 12am on 19 August 2026, and completed tenders must be submitted by 12am on 2 September 2026.

The contract covers the supply, installation, maintenance, repair, removal, refurbishment, and storage of domestic lifts and ceiling track hoists across Coventry.
This tender is suitable for suppliers able to provide and support domestic lifts and ceiling track hoists throughout their lifecycle.
Tenders will be evaluated on price and quality, with price weighted at 80 percent and quality at 20 percent.
Suppliers can register free of charge through Coventry City Council’s CSW-JETS e-procurement system to express interest, access the tender documents, and submit electronically.
The deadline for both enquiries and tender submissions is 5pm on 1 September 2026.

BHTA members involved in lifting and handling equipment services may wish to review this tender opportunity from Southend-on-Sea City Council for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of lifting equipment used in private dwellings and community equipment settings.
Southend-on-Sea City Council is seeking a single supplier to provide inspection, maintenance, and repair services for lifting equipment. The notice states that the equipment covered includes slings, chair lifts, bath lifts, and hoists, including mobile and ceiling track hoists.
The contract is intended to support the safe and compliant operation of equipment used by Southend-on-Sea residents and carers. Most equipment is located in private dwellings, although some may also be held in the community equipment service warehouse.
The appointed supplier must be suitably qualified to deliver services in line with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including LOLER, PUWER, safeguarding, and infection control expectations.
