The members of this section meet with the intention of raising awareness, improving education and to provide appropriate preventative interventions and suitable equipment to assist in the achieving the overall aim of the reduction of avoidable pressure ulcers in the NHS, Community and Nursing & Care Homes.
One example of this is the work that the section achieved in response to the MHRA query on the inspection and auditing of mattresses. The BHTA produced a guide entitled “Protect, Rinse and Dry” our guidance on the care, cleaning and inspection of healthcare mattresses.
